MediaLive: Data Rich, Dirt Poor
September 11, 2025 - January 11, 2026 @BMoCA
What’s it all worth? As narrow modes of valuation dominate the contemporary landscape, the 2025 edition of MediaLive digs into how value and values are constructed - environmentally, culturally, and archivally. Committed to expansive definitions of media and media arts, the exhibition champions low tech and tactile methods that resist the hyper-valuation of the latest technologies. Taken together, the works and curation make proposals for degrowth in a world seemingly fixed in asset mode.
Participating artists include: Tega Brain and Sam Lavigne, Claudia Hart, Open Weather, Xiaowei Wang, Sarah Rara, Isabel Beavers, Cass Marketos, Andy DiLallo, and Josefina Buschmann.
Guest curated by Maya Livio.
