Driven by curiosity, artist Ellen Moershel infuses exploration and experimentation into her vibrant and colorful paintings. Working outside the confines of conventional landscapes, Moershel invites viewers to explore the lush garden of her abstracted portraits of plants and flowers. Flora Abstracted is an energetic display of color, form, and emotion, created through the unpredictable nature of Moershel’s creative process.

Bemis Library hosts 3 large scale paintings and 4 small works from Moershel. These paintings are in various locations throughout the library as an open invitation to look with fresh eyes, to seek beauty in the unconventional, and to nurture the creativity of curiosity.
