“This is a place for hopes and dreams”

Our Wishes | Nuestros Deseos was designed to break down the barriers between the artist and viewer while centering on community. Hopes and wishes were collected from Bemis Library community members and were represented on handmade flags created by artist Alejandra Abad in collaboration with volunteer community members.

This exhibition was the latest installment of Abad’s Our Wishes | Nuestros Deseos project which began in 2020, and has engaged and inspired multiple local communities around the Denver metro region.

About the Artist
Alejandra Abad is an interdisciplinary visual artist with a penchant for dense abstract shapes and fantastical landscapes. Her playful drawings, paintings and prints become moving images. Her work centers around collaborative projects, immersive installations, collages and animation that reflect her identity and values.
