Interdisciplinary artist Cherish Marquez creates a community generated installation in her exhibition, Social Signs ,at Anythink Huron Street. The collective mural will display an interactive collection of symbols that explore identity and symbology while showing how augmented reality (AR) can help us generate deeper understandings of each other.

About the Artist

Cherish Marquez (b.1989 El Paso, TX, USA) is Latina and Queer identifying. She spent her childhood in Sierra Blanca, TX, and her adult life in Las Cruces, NM. Currently, she lives and works in Denver, Colorado. She holds a BA in Fine Arts and Creative Writing from the New Mexico State University and an MFA in Emergent Digital Practices from the University of Denver . She works as an interdisciplinary artist that delves into science, theory, and digital art. She is currently an artist in residence at Redline Contemporary Art Center and a board member for Denver Digerati. She has shown her work in Ars Electronica Galley Spaces, CADAF Contemporary & Digital Art Fair, Social Distance Gallery, RedLine Juried Exhibition at RedLine Contemporary Art Center, and a solo show at Union Hall titled Voices of the Desert.
