BOULDER MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART
PERFORMANCE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES BMoCA produces and presents multidisciplinary performance, theater, music, dance, film and literary events. BMoCA's performance space is not a rental facility, it is a programmed/curated venue – which means that all work is either actively solicited, commissioned for the space or chosen from submitted proposals. We also occasionally co-produce events with other organizations. We do rent the space for business meetings, private parties and rehearsals, but not for public performances where tickets are sold to the public. Again, BMoCA is not a rental facility and we are not offering opportunities for people to self-produce at our venue. BMoCA provides administrative and artistic support, publicity and marketing, box office tickets and services, ushers, evening rehearsal time/space, artistic direction, and select production costs to productions/artists. We feel we are providing an important service to the community and to artists by giving this kind of support to Boulder/Denver performing artists. We will do everything possible to ensure that you have a positive and supportive environment to make/create the work. We are excited about the large numbers of artists interested in performing in the space, but unfortunately will not be able to accommodate every artist who submits work to us. Please remember that we are programming and planning up to one year in advance. We cannot immediately review to the high volume of proposals and small number of staff. Note: Due to the size of the space and limited resources, BMoCA cannot produce or present large-scale performances. Also, performances that are intensely physical in nature (involving lots of jumping on the floor, for instance) are not suited to the space due to safety and structural issues.
