The past isn’t far behind when Mike and Lisa Davis arrive at the New York apartment of Tobi Powell, a charismatic, but distinctly solitary man who finds knitting a satisfying alternative to sex.  Under the pretext of doing research for a book, Lisa and Mike interview Tobi about his life as a dancer in New York’s Greenwich Village during the 1950’s and 60’s.  But it soon becomes evident that their true agenda is as multi-layered as the long buried secret they are determined to unearth.

A devastating fire forces Eleanor Kaiser to open her arms to her daughter and teenage granddaughter. It is quickly revealed that little has changed during their years apart. Into this family of weary women staggers Kenetta Tate, a free spirited, possible ex-hooker, who, like Eleanor, is struggling to jump-start a life that has ground to a halt.  Before long, what was once pain becomes pleasure and what was once misfortune becomes a chance at self-forgiveness.

As with last season’s much praised “Pentimento” Theatre13 takes to the studio once again to create a wholly original new work. Through a collaborative improvisation-based process that will begin this fall, company members and guest artists will generate a show that underscores Theatre13’s second season theme of “Happy Endings.”  Throughout the season the company will host workshop showings of this new material inviting our audiences to not only witness the creative process but to influence the work through feedback and Q&A sessions.
