BOULDER MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART
Kristen
Imig In this body of work, done over the past 5 years, Imig bridges the gap between documentary photography and portraiture. Taken in New York, Paris, India, and Africa, these black and white photographs capture specific moments in time, reflect cultural politics of place, and provide revelatory insights into the human condition. Kristen Imig grew up
in Boulder , where she began photographing at an early age.
She studied photography at Parsons School of Design in Paris . A recent
first prize from a National Geographic competition took her to southern
Africa . Her works have been featured in numerous films including
Crazy Beautiful, Spiderman, Welcome to Collinwood,
Spiderman II, and the soon to be released A Lot Like
Love. Her photographs have been exhibited in Paris, Colorado,
and in Seattle, where she now resides. |
